The largest man-made sapphire in the world weighs over 5 million carats. It is a great background for the first photo of your Gemfields adventure. What
are the Gemfields?
The Gemfields is the largest sapphire field of its type in the world.
It has something for every visitor to Queensland or Australia. A number
of small towns (Anakie, Rubyvale, Sapphire and the Willows) are located
in the Gemfields.
Tourists
are welcome and well looked after. The Gemfields offers a true outback
adventure for every visitor. The Big Sapphire also caters for school
excursions and coach
groups.

Where
is the Big Sapphire?
The Gemfields Information Centre and the Big Sapphire are located at
Anakie, Central Queensland, Australia. It is only a short drive from
the growing town of Emerald. We have maps
and travelling instructions
to make getting here easy.
